Before you were born I loved you, Before you were here an hour I would die for

Back Home!!

In case you haven't heard yet, we have officially moved back home to Oklahoma!!! This past week has been filled with numerous family visitations and a lot of adjustments. It took the girls a couple of nights to get used to their new house, but now they seem to feel right at home.

They are both growing rapidly and learning so many new things. Abigail now has about 40 words in her vocabulary and Emily says about 15 including "catch it" and her favorite "up". Emily is our nature girl. She loves looking at and touching trees, leaves, plants, and grass as well as chasing any animal in sight. Abigail is very independent and likes to do things her own way.

They are interacting a lot these days. Daddy told me about them playing chase and when Emily caught Abigail, she touch her and then took off running in the other direction. They are starting to share everything from their fingers and food to their toothbrushes.

Summer Time!!

The girls had their first Summer 2008 water experience. They loved playing in the sprinkler and Mommy and Daddy had a blast watching them.

I Call Shotgun!

Abigail loves getting in the Cozy Coupe with Emily. She pushes Emily way over and squeezes herself into the drivers seat. If this is any indication of what's to come, I think we'll have to find a way to buy two separate cars.

Do You Smell That?

When asked, "Do you smell that?", Emily will start sniffing the air. Then, she'll usually scrunch up her face indicating that whatever it is, it stinks! In this instance, it was sister's diaper change...ShoooWeee

Everybody Clean Up

I'm trying to teach to the girls to put their toys up after playing. Abigail seems to like cleaning up, but Emily would prefer to move on to something more exciting.

At lunch, Abigail decided to try out her bib on her head. She liked it so much that she had to have Emily's "hat" too. If you'll notice they are not wearing their bibs around their necks. This is due to their ability to pull them over their heads in order to take them off.

Dancing with Dora

Both girls have really gotten in to dancing. Their favorite song is "We Did It" which is played at the end of every episode of Dora the Explorer. Along with these moves, Abigail will squat and bounce, and Emily will sway back and forth if she is on her hands and knees.

Lunch Time Games

Emily decided that lunch time was the perfect opportunity to play. Maybe her silliness was caused by her excitement over the veggies on her tray. Yes, she does actually love her vegetables, but isn't too fond of fruits. Weird, huh?

Snow Day

We haven't seen much snow here in Arkansas this winter. This was really the first day we have been able to play in it. Daddy made a snow baby complete with Tar Heel gear, and then the girls felt the cold snow for the first time. We originally thought Emily would hate it and Abigail would love it, but they both seemed somewhat indifferent about it.

Hitting the Target

The girls have a little dog-like toy that has its mouth open for them to put balls in and watch go down. Both girls have done really well learning how to hit the target. Daddy worked really hard with them to accomplish this.

Our World Just Got Noisier

The girls found the pots and pans this morning. When baby proofing the house months ago, I puposely left this cabinet unlocked and filled with things they could play with. At first, the loud noises scared Emily, but she soon came to really like creating it herself.

Abigail's New Smile

Abigail has a new smile. She likes to wrinkle her nose, wink her right eye, throw her head back, and smile.

"I Love It When We're Cruisin' Together"

Abigail's new trick is pushing larger toys, such as the bucket for the blocks, around the living room and walking behind them. This buggy(above) was a Christmas gift from their Aunt Lisa and fortunately, for Abigail, it actually has wheels, so it is easier to move around.

Below, Abigail is pushing Emily along in the walker. Emily is just bouncing along, enjoying the ride. As you can see, they haven't quite figured out how to navigate corners yet.

Maybe we do fight....sometimes:)

The girls were contently looking out the window, when they suddenly started pushing each other. I'm not sure what caused the fight, but they have apparently made up. I assume that this was the first of many disagreements to come.

Emily Loves Hats

Emily has an extreme interest in hats. When Daddy wears his hat, she immidiately wants it on her head. She has her own and loves to wear it as she crawls around, even if it slides down over her eyes causing her to bump into things.

Abigail's Walking

Abigail really shows a desire to use walking as her main mode of transportation. Unfortunately, her balance is still lacking a little.

What's Out There?

The girls have discovered the outside world from our back door. They love to watch Carolina playing. "Dog" is a common word in their conversations.

Miss Abigail reached another milestone. She took her first steps yesterday!! We were practicing standing when she decied to take off. The first time she did it, she actually took two steps. This was followed by several other attempts at taking one step at a time.

Sippy Cups

The girls love drinking apple juice from their sippy cups. They are able to correctly chose which cup is their's.
