Tatur Mud Run 2010

Daddy entered his first mud run today. While waiting for his heat to start he slid down the mud slide with Emily a few times. He also got into a mud throwing fight with an unknown little boy...and lost:)

Abigail refused to go down the slide and attempted walking in the mud at first. Afterwards she cried until I washed off her feet and switched her into her clean shoes. Second attempt at the slide. Daddy got much more muddy than Emily did.

Daddy and his teammates. Once Daddy went to line up for his race, Abigail decided she would like to try the mud again. This time she liked it a lot. However, she would ask me if she could get muddy each time she wanted to put another body part in.

Philbrook Museum of Art

Today we headed to Philbrook Museum of Art for their monthly Second Saturday event. This is the second time we've gone, but today was extra special because Nana, Aunt Tracie, and Lorelai came with us. After exploring the Egyptian exhibit and looking at many pieces of art, we headed outside to enjoy the amazing gardens.Nana and her girls; Emily, Lorelai, and Abigail.

I think the girls loved this part of the museum the most. This sweet cat allowed them to pet and play with her until I had to finally drag them away.

Both girls were intrigued by the ponds, waterfalls, and fountains.

Nana was kind enough to stop in the heat for the girls to chase butterflies. The gardens seemed to attract them. Emily could have stayed busy for hours chasing them all.

I absolutely love it when the girls hold hands. Abigail actually instigated this act of affection. They were a little slow coming down the stairwell this way, but thankfully the people were patient with them.

One of the crafts today was to paint a "kind tree". The girls decided to do their own thing. Emily began painting a rainbow and Abigail's was an abstract, but they both ended up being something a little different.

Tulsa Shock

Right before Father's Day, Josh took the girls to a Tulsa Shock game for a Daddy/Daughter Date Night. They got their picture taken together, a picture frame, and best of all, a Daddy/Daughter dance of the floor after the game. Unfortunately, their digital camera messed up and they lost all their pictures from that night. As a consolation they sent the girls an autographed picture of Marion Jones and 4 free tickets to a game of our choice.

We chose to go see them play against the best team in the league, Seattle Storm. We figured the Shock would get beat since their record was something like 4-23, but they surprised us and beat them by 9! The girls had fun eating popcorn and cotton candy, dancing to the music, and watching Volt, the fox/mascot.

Daddy was being goofy with Ems on his shoulders during a time-out and the cameraman got them up on the big screen. It's hard to make out, but Josh's blue hat is in the top left corner.

More Vacation Fun

We stayed in a beautiful 3 story house right on the beach. There was a screened-in porch around the 2nd story and this balcony on the 3rd floor. The girls came up here and chased after Mason and played driving to Kiddie Park(notice they are all wearing their "seatbelts").

One of our favorite activities in the evening was to get ice cream and walk along the pier. The girls always wanted to stand on the benches and look way down at the ocean. Many people fished off the end, and we actually got to see someone catch a small shark. Interesting to see, but made me a little uncomfortable about swimming after that.

The Beach...Day One

After two days in the car, a night in Tupelo, MS, and too any hours watching DVDs, we finally made it to the beach at Tybee Island! Abigail showing off her beach hat.

There were may sea creatures out this morning. I found a dead jelly fish, Daddy caught a large sand crab, and we watched a dolphin roam the water.

Abigail loved the crab. She was brave enough to pet it, but usually wanted Daddy to hold it ad show it to her from a distance.

Abigail and Daddy enjoyed a swim (too far out in Mommy's opinion).

Emily mostly wandered the beach searching for seashells.
