Abigail is Reading!!
At 2 years and 8 months old, Abigail read her first book completely by herself!! Momo bought them a set of sight word readers and she was able to read all the words the first time we looked at it together.
This is an example of the pages in the book. The harder words (floor and door) have pictures to help them read. The first time reading it, Abigail seemed to only be focusing on saying the words. The second time she read it, she seemed to realize that she was putting words together to make sentences and tell a story.

Reading at 21 Months Old???
Abigail has been really developing her pre-reading skills. She is able to identify some sight words, predict text, use rhyming words to complete phrases, and loves to finish the sentences when I read or sing songs to her . Here she is working with some books Nana gave her. We just started working on this short 'u' book 2 days ago and she can already point to the words when I ask her and she is even able to read the words herself.

Are We Dealing with a Genius Here?
Abigail is already identifying her shapes. She knows, and is able to say, circle, square, triangle(even though she missed it in this video), rectangle, oval, diamond, and, her favorite, star, which she also knows in Spanish.
Emily knows star and circle. While Abigail is great at language, Emily is advancing quickly in her fine motor skills. She is great at stacking blocks, putting things together, coloring, "writing", and can already catch a ball! We think she may turn out to be left handed and quite the little athlete.
Abigail also knows four colors and is able to identify things that are those colors. Her favorite is blue, which she called everything "blue" for a while, but know is able to differentiate between that and green, red, and pink. We are working on yellow and orange.

Where is the....?
Abigail has an amazing memory. She is able to identify numerous things in pictures when asked "Where is the...?" Along with the things in the video she also knows apple, ball, dog, duck, cow, horse, elephant, monkey, cat, orange, pencils, bee, motorcycle, shoes, rabbit, pail, bird, bug, angel, fish, snake, worm, the word green, egg, and numerous body parts. She loves her books. This morning she was following me and Emily around the house as we practiced walking, carrying a book, and crying after us to read with her.

Read to Me, Please.
Abigail loves being read to. She'll find a book she wants read to her, bring it to me, and if I'm sitting in the floor, she'll back herself up until she sits in my lap. Then we'll read the same book 5 or 6 times. Oh, and she has to be the one to turn the pages.
This weekend, she found some other people to read to her. Her cousin, Jordan and Pa got to snuggle in with her and read.

Holding Hands
Mommy and Daddy love the fact that we can now hold hands with Abigail as she walks. She seems to like it most of the time, too. It is so sweet when she looks up as we walk hand in hand and smiles her semi-toothy smile at us. The first few times we did it, it brought tears to our eyes. We can't wait to have a daughter on each side. Emily is still not interested in practicing much. She has wobbly legs, but if she is not really paying attention, she can stand for long periods of time.

Abigail Walking
Abigail is now walking way more than she crawls. She'll take a spill and get back up and go again. She can even walk in a circle, around corners, and step over things.
