Zoobilee

We attended the Tulsa Zoo's annual Zoobilee event this year. It was a beautiful morning; a great time to spend with the family, see some animals, and hunt Easter eggs. We began by riding the carousel, then made our way to the back of the zoo on the train.Emily found the Easter bunny!!

A favorite mode of transportation for both girls. Daddy is often seen carrying one on his shoulders and holding the other in his arms.

Abigail on her way to put out a fire in her fire engine. After this, she had to ride each of the bouncy toys around the play area.

They had several crafts for the children to do. Here Emily is coloring an egg with a marker. Luckily it was pretty much like an egged-shaped rock since she dropped it more than a few times.

Again, Abigail would not pick up any eggs that were not red. Unfortunately for her, none of the eggs here were red, so she walked away with an empty basket. Fortunately for her, she has a very generous sister who doesn't like chocolate, so Emily shared some of her candy.

Easter Egg Hunt at The Assembly

We had our first egg hunt of the season at our church, The Assembly at Broken Arrow. It was another big day, too, because it was the first time they were not in nursery, but instead went into the pre-school, 3 year old class. Mommy had a much harder time with the transition than they did. We had to be patient and wait a little while before the hunt began. Abigail entertained herself by using her basket as a hat while Emily walked around the eggs, presumably eyeing the best spot to begin. Once the hunt started, Abigail would only pick up the red, her favorite color, eggs. Emily wasn't picky and gathered eggs until her basket was overly full.

The Easter Bunny visited all the kids. While they were both intrigued by the giant bunny, neither would get close enough to get a picture with it.After a busy egg hunt, the girls were ready to head home to open their eggs unveiling the treasures they had inside.

Our Traveling Barnyard Party

The girls had a traveling barnyard come to their birthday party. The children, as well as many adults, enjoyed feeding, watering, and playing with the baby chicks, baby ducks, rabbits, miniature horse, and a goat. They also got to hear the cries of a hungry rooster. We had to move the animals into the garage since it was so windy, but that was a lot better than the snow storm we had to dodge the previous weekend.
Abigail LOVES chocolate, so Momo made her a chocolate horse. She also made the pig and the farm scene sheet cake. As always, she did an amazing job; providing the girls with the perfect cakes.

She enjoyed her moment of individual attention as we all sang "Happy Birthday" to her and she blew out her candle.

Emily was a little shy once she realized all our attention was on her. She wasn't sure about blowing out the candle on her pink piggy.

Chow Time

Ella visited us, but had to stay in the trailer. Abigail was determined to feed her apples, so they gave her so many that she couldn't eat them all, but was so grateful that she gave Emily a kiss.

This is Josh's 4th grade teacher's son, Nathan. He enjoyed feeding Chester the Goat.
The did an awesome job opening all their gifts. We want to thank everyone for all the clothes, games, puzzles, books, money, toys, and cards.

After the gifts were opened, the girls, Michelle, and Alexis played "Hungry, Hungry Hippo", on of my favorites as a little girl.

It's Been Three Years Already?

Our "babies" turned three today! I'm really okay with them growing up because things just seem to get better and better.The girls couldn't wait to start opening gifts. They woke us up early, and we let them open their digital cameras. They are not professional photographers yet, but they are working at it.

I asked her over and over what she wanted for her birthday. Her response was always the same, "An alligator and chocolate cake!" As you can see, she adores her alligator and named him Alex.

We went to Chuck E. Cheese's the afternoon of their birthday, an annual tradition.

The night of their birthday we had friends from church over for dinner and fellowship. They had a great time playing with their new friends.

Nana's Birthday Party

We celebrated Nana's birthday at Aunt Tracie and Uncle Bryan's house. There was a Hawaiian theme, so we dressed in our grass skirts, Hawaiian shirts, and leis. Nana with all her grand babies, minus Bennie.

Blizzard 2009

Christmas 2009 brought more than gifts. We had a blizzard that dropped 6-10 inches of snow. The girls couldn't wait to dress in their new boots and mittens and head outside. The trip started cautiously enough, but ended for Abigail when she was startled by snow hitting her in the face during the fight between the girls and Kofi vs. Daddy(video below). Daddy won, of course, after scaring the dog and inadvertently making Abigail cry. He felt horrible. She headed indoors while Emily stayed outside as long as we would let her.
