Flower Girls

Uncle Jerrad requested Emily and Abigail be the flower girls in his wedding. Mommy was a little worried how they would react to a crowd and if they would make it down the aisle. So, in preparation, we watched videos of other flower girls, played "flower girl" without dressing up, and then, finally, we got them both in their dresses, walking down the hallway, and throwing the petals as they walked. However, Abigail was still not thrilled about wearing her dress. She kept saying it was "too tight".

The day of the wedding we drove to Eureka Springs where they were having the wedding at the beautiful Crescent Hotel. We had to get the girls dressed a little early for pictures. Like we feared, Abigail wanted it off badly. She cried for a while until we distracted her and the wedding began...two hours later. However, she and Emily did PERFECT!!! They were the cutest flower girls ever. As soon as they walked down the aisle, they came back to where Mommy was sitting. Emily exclaimed, "I DID IT!" and Abigail said loudly, "Take it off now" speaking of her dress. Everyone heard them, of course, and laughed. I was so proud of them both and they looked so beautiful!

Trick or Treat

This year was a lot different from last year's trick or treating. The girls were anxious to walk(at the beginning) and they could actually knock on the doors, say, "Trick or treat!", and "Thank you". They also understood that they get lots of candy and that candy is GOOD. They, however, have not yet realized that we gave away or hid most of their bounty. Emily has discovered a new love, but still won't eat chocolate.

By the end, Emily just wanted to ride and dig through her bucket. Abigail did a pretty good job of making it the whole way.

Sapulpa Trick or Treating

Sapupla downtown businesses held a trick or treat activity on Halloween. We walk around and all the owners or employees handed out candy. It was almost too easy. And, the girls got way too much candy. Abigail had three pieces and I guess her tummy started to hurt. She told me , "I ate three much candy." (instead of "too" much since she had 3 not 2 pieces).

They had it made. They choose to ride the rest of the way once they got about half way through it. Daddy would push them to the next business, the people would put more candy into their buckets, and they spent their time going through their goodies.

Pumpkin Patch(es) Times 5

Okay, I'll amit, we went to the pumpkin patch a LOT this season. The girls loved it and with two great ones close by, we had many activities to cover. Pumpkin Town was great because they had a hay stack to climb, houses to play in, and wheelbarrows to push your pumpkins in.

The pumpkin patch in Bixby was fun because it had a petting zoo, pony rides, and a lot more pumpkins to climb on.

Halloween eve, we went back to the pumkin patch in Bixby with Aunt Tracie, Uncle Bryan, Lorelai, Aly, and Cade to get pumpkins to carve at Aunt Tracie's later that night. This time the girls rode the ponies. It was the first time they rode ponies without Mommy and Daddy holding on to them.

Abigail found a pumkin that looked like an egg.

Fall Festival

We went to the Fall Festival at our church, Newspring Family Church. The girls were able to choose their own costumes this year. As much as Mommy wanted to dress them alike or in the same theme, I let them branch out and have some individuality. Abigail went back and forth, first it was Minnie Mouse, then a cat, and finally on to Elmo. Emily had it narrowed down to a ladybug or bee and finally settled on the bee. Her's was a heavy costume, so I had to let her run around in her Pooh dressed as a bee shirt. Abigail has been wearing her costume regularly since we got it and I'm sure she will continue to wear long after Halloween is over.

Traveling Barnyard

The girls got to experience a little of what it is like at a farm. Ms. Carmen brought her traveling barnyard to the school so the BA P.A.T. group could see it. She had a darling little horse named, Ella, goats, chickens, a rooster, rabbits, a duck, and baby chicks. Emily really liked petting the goats, but she had to make sure she was facing them both all the time. If she ever turned her back on one, it would butt her in the back. It wasn't hard enough to hurt her, but frustrated her.

Abigail liked the table set up with a miniature farm set. You can see the excitement on her face.

Emily was very reluctant to hold the baby chicks, but Abigail couldn't wait to get her hands on them. Then she didn't want to give them up for the other kids to play with.

Corn Maize

This year we went to the Corn Maize for the first time. We went with many family members to celebrate the return of our Uncle Jeremie from Iraq. He was only here for two weeks before he had to go back. We are all very proud of him for serving so bravely and the sacrifices he and all of our other soldiers and their families are making. Thank you, Uncle Jeremie. We love you!! The girls absolutely loved the corn pit. It was like a giant sandbox filled with about two feet deep of corn. They could have played in there the whole time, but we convinced them to go look at everything else.

We rode in the cow train. Mommy and Daddy rode in it first with the girls. Thankfully, Alexis, their soon-to-be new cousin, came and rode the next time around with them.
Next, we attempted to make it through the maze. The girls got preoccupied looking at the corn stalks. We finally made it out, but we ended up back at the entrance rather than the exit.

We also went on the girls' first hayride. They really liked it, but kept insisting that the driver "go" when he stopped to tell us about the various scenes he had set up around then field.
